The Role:
Thomas Alexander Homes is seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical Administrator on a full-time basis (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm).
Key Responsibilities:
Document Control & Drawing Management
- Maintain and update drawing registers, ensuring all current drawings are accurately filed and distributed.
- Issue technical drawings and supporting information to internal teams, site staff and external consultants in accordance with document control procedures.
- Organise and manage electronic and physical development folders and print any relevant drawings.
- Prepare and maintaini customer reservation forms and information folders, ensuring all documentation is kept up to date in line with revised drawings.
Project Support & External Liaison
- Support the Technical Team in issuing information to external consultants, utility providers and solicitors.
- Manage and maintain consultant appointments.
- Assist with the coordination and progression of Section Agreements (including S38, S104, and S278) and tracking legal and technical milestones.
- Undertake services/utilities enquiries and updates.
Procurement & Finance Administration
- Assist in processing purchase orders (POs) and invoices and liaising with the commercial team.
Administrative Support & Communication
- Maintain and update project trackers and Excel-based spreadsheets for monitoring technical deliverables and approvals.
- Draft, format, and dispatch professional correspondence to external parties including legal advisors, planning officers, and utility companies.
- Provide general administrative support to the Technical Department, including arranging meetings, taking minutes and organising project files.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Support the preparation of technical packs for planning applications, building control submissions.
- Support the preparation of technical packs and information for housing association and customer packs.
Education and experience:
- GCSE C or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Proficient in using Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PDF and Outlook.
- Admin experience is necessary, not necessarily in housebuilding.
Job Type: Permanent (Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm).
Work Location: Thomas Alexander Homes’ Head Office in Leeds.
