Celebrating National Work/Life Week 2024

At Thomas Alexander Homes, we believe that creating modern homes in beautiful settings starts with building a supportive, inclusive environment for our team members. That’s why, as we celebrate National Work/Life Week 2024 (7th – 11th October), we’re taking a look at the ways in which we prioritise our employees’ wellbeing and help them maintain a healthy work/life balance!

Prioritising Employee Wellbeing.

At Thomas Alexander Homes, we understand that the success of our projects comes from the dedication and creativity of our team. To foster this, we have developed a workplace culture that puts people first. Here are some of the ways we support the wellbeing of our staff:

Flexible Working Arrangements.

We recognise that life doesn’t always fit into the traditional 9-to-5 model, which is why we offer flexible working options. Whether it’s adjusting start and finish times or working remotely where possible, we aim to accommodate individual needs. This flexibility allows our employees to balance work with personal commitments, helping them to be more focused and productive when they’re on the job.

Inclusive Workplace Culture.

At Thomas Alexander Homes, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We actively promote a culture where every team member, regardless of background or identity, feels welcome, valued and heard. We have zero tolerance for discrimination and we work hard to foster a space where creativity and innovation can flourish.

Team Building and Social Events.

Strong team relationships are crucial to maintaining a healthy and happy workplace. That’s why we organise team-building activities and social events to help employees unwind, connect and strengthen their working relationships in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.

Some of our recent events have included a baking competition to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as a couple of trips to the races. And it won’t be long until we start organising our next Christmas party!

Professional Development Opportunities.

Because we believe that supporting employees’ personal and professional growth is vital to their job satisfaction, we offer ongoing training and development opportunities, empowering our staff to progress in their careers and reach their full potential. Whether it’s gaining new certifications, attending industry conferences or honing leadership skills, we provide the resources necessary for growth.

By putting these principles into action, we’re ensuring that Thomas Alexander Homes is not just a great place to work but also a space where employees can grow and maintain a healthy work/life balance.

And we’re always thinking of our residents too, of course, which is why our homes are also designed to help them improve their work/life balance with dedicated home offices and comfortable living spaces to relax in after a long day!
