At Thomas Alexander Homes, we’re proud to build in some of North Yorkshire’s most beautiful and historic locations so, this World Environment Day, we’re celebrating the great outdoors with five fun activities near our active developments, with something for every age group.

🌿 1. Scenic Stroll at Sutton Bank National Park Centre (Thirsk).

Sutton Bank offers one of the most breathtaking views in England, with accessible walking trails and benches along the way. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy a gentle walk, fresh air and panoramic vistas over the Vale of York. The visitor centre also provides information on local wildlife and history, making for a peaceful and enriching day out.

🚣 2. Rowing on the River Nidd (Knaresborough).

Why not embrace the charm of Knaresborough by renting a rowing boat on the River Nidd? Glide beneath the iconic viaduct, take in the lush greenery and finish off with a riverside picnic. It’s a relaxing yet invigorating way to enjoy nature and the town’s historic scenery.
